Linden onslaught too much for St. Luke’s

MOBILE — Linden took care of its business on the road Friday night, handling St. Luke’s in a 53-17 region victory.

Prentiss McQuiston scored three touchdowns in the first quarter on runs of 25 yards, five yards and one yard.

Thomas Stubblefield got St. Luke’s back into the ball game with an 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and a 36-yard field goal, trimming the score to 20-10.

Linden fired back with a 31-yard touchdown pass from Dewayne Charleston to Jeffery Stacy. Demarcus Gilmore added the two-point conversion run for tyne 28-10 lead at half.

Stacy scored again in the third quarter with a 36-yard catch. Kynard Craig chimed in with a 48-yard scoring catch from Charleston.

Terrance Sanders added a touchdown on 13-yard run while Devontae Knox scored on a 30-yard sprint.

The Patriots had 22 first downs on the night while amassing 291 rushing yards on 40 carries. Linden totaled 512 yards of total offense in the contest.

Charleston went 9-for-10 through the air for 220 yards and three touchdowns while rushing twice for 50 yards.

McQuiston had 12 carries for 95 yards and three scores. Sanders had 15 totes for 90 yards.

Stacy had four catches for 112 yards while Nicholas Rogers had four receptions for 61 yards.
