Calling for a revival in America to start in Marengo County, some 100 people gathered in front of the Courthouse Tuesday morning as part of a series of gatherings for Praying Across Alabama.

Sponsored by the Alabama Baptist Convention State Board of Missions, the event in Linden is one of 75 being held at every courthouse in the state through April.

As people gathered, Ed Shirley, minister of Linden United Methodist Church, led them in song.

Others on the program were Dr. Bobby E. Hopper, Director of Missions for Bethel Baptist Association; Dr. Randy Creel, pastor, Linden Baptist Church; the Rev. Warren Huggins, pastor, Providence Baptist Church; Judge Wade Drinkard; the Rev William Curry, President of the Linden City School Board of Education; Dr. Bobby Dubois, Alabama State Board of Mission; George Baldwin, Superintendent of Linden City Schools, and Marengo County Sheriff Richard Bates.
