Linden at 8-1 following Calhoun tourney

Linden went 2-1 in the Calhoun Tournament, closing out the bracket with back-to-back wins after suffering its first loss of the season Thursday.

The Patriots (8-1) got off to a sluggish start against tournament host Calhoun Thursday, trailing 23-10 in the first quarter. The Patriots bounced back in the fourth quarter to turn a 15-point deficit into a 10-point lead before ultimately falling 70-69.

Shauka Reese led the Patriots with 20 points in the game, finding the majority of his contribution from beyond the arc where he connected on six three-pointers in the contest. Imoras Agee chipped in 18 points while Chris Rogers added 10 and Jalen Lewis finished with nine.

Linden got back in the win column Friday with a 68-53 dispatching of Class 5A Greenville. The Patriots got 21 points from Agee to set the tone while Reese finished with 15 and Rogers added nine.

Linden wrapped up the weekend Saturday with a 69-66 victory over Luverne in a back-and-forth contest that saw Agee drain a three with four seconds remaining to win the game.

Agee led the Patriots with 25 points. Rogers added 15 points while Anthony Robinson scored 12.

The Patriots will play again Thursday against a yet-to-be-determined opponent in their own Christmas Tournament.
