Library announces Halloween Monster March

The Demopolis Public Library and businesses in downtown Demopolis are sponsoring a Halloween Monster March on Friday, Oct. 31.

The Monster March will start at the Demopolis Public Library’s side patio area at 4 p.m. The library will serve as a meeting place and the first stop for candy. The group will then march down Washington Street and around Public Square. Local businesses will hand out candy on Public Square and Collins Communications will provide spooky music in the park.

“We have done this event in the past and it’s always a spooktacular success usually averaging 150 children and parents,” said Library Director Morgan Allen. “This year we are partnering with the downtown businesses to enhance the event. We have had a great response from downtown businesses, including Alabama Power, The Mustard Seed and Spiller Furniture.”

This event is for children birth through sixth grade and all children must be accompanied by an adult or guardian. Costumes are encouraged, but not required. The library staff will be dressed up for Halloween, so stop by the DPL on Halloween to check out some books, DVD’s, and the staff’s costumes!
