Letter to the Editor: DMS Robotics sends thanks

Dear City of Demopolis and Surrounding Communities,

I am the robotics coach for the Demopolis City School System. We were recently able to compete at Auburn University for the Southeastern Regional BEST Robotics Competition due to placing high enough at our local competition at Shelton State Community College. Our team was very successful this year. This was due to all of the support this great community provided. This program has become substantial in just two years of existence because of the willingness of individuals and businesses to help our students. I cannot encourage you enough to shop local. It is vital to our school and community to keep our money in Demopolis as much as possible. Businesses in this town never hesitate to help our students in whatever way they can. I guarantee you a lot of the money you spend in Demopolis is returned to our community in our schools to help our children with their education. I have seen this firsthand through the Demopolis City Schools Foundation and the robotics program. The support that the community offers is what puts Demopolis a step above other school systems in our state. Thank you to everyone who has had a hand in the success of the robotics program this year. We are grateful for your support and will always strive to make this community proud. Below, I have recognized the people and businesses that have contributed to the robotics program this year.
