The Lady Tigers surrendered four runs in the sixth and three in the seventh despite allowing just seven hits in the contest.

Free passes proved detrimental to Demopolis in the sixth as three Hillcrest batters walked and two were hit by pitch.

Hillcrest pitcher Allison Freeman started the sixth-inning rally by getting plunked. She later scored when Ashley Hixon drew a bases-loaded walk. Lyndsey Vaughan absorbed a pitch off the foot to force home Hannah Payne. The big blow of the sixth came off the bat of Anna Blake Barnette when she roped a two-run single to plate Hixon and Bree Fornis.

Freeman ignited another rally in the seventh when she opened with a leadoff double before giving way to courtesy runner Ashley Sassamaa. Fornis later stroked a single to score Sassamaa and Karley Sanders before Kailyn Dunn reached home on a passed ball.
