The Kiwanis Club of Demopolis hosted an induction ceremony for the Demopolis High School Key Club on Tuesday, April 18 at the Demopolis Country Club.  25 members were inducted into the Key Club. Amy White, president of the Demopolis Kiwanis Club, and Valley Harrison, Kiwanis Club Treasurer, presented pins and certificates to the Key Club Inductees in attendance.

Key Club is a service club established to not only develop its members into better citizens, but also, through its members, to build a better nation. One difference between Key Club and many of the other service clubs at Demopolis High School is that it partners with the local Kiwanis Club, therefore connecting local business leaders with possible future business leaders. This partnership also allows for shared community service projects, thus providing another connection between present and future generations of business and community leaders.

New Key Club Members inducted and in attendance included Mary Frances Brown, Kate Floyd, Cheyenne Martin, Caroline Overmyer, Caroline Poole, Aurelia Brown, Matt Dollar, Makayla Durden, Brionna Howerton, Tariana Jackson, Shaelin Jones, Tatum Owens, Napolean Roberton, Casey Speed, Justin Stephens, Anna Kaye Williams, Nathan Williams, and Parker Hallmark.

Those inducted but not in attendance were Yanna Kelly, Jaylyn Branch, Russ Logan, Nya Rowser, Taylor Vail, McKenzie Walker and Zaria Williams.

The Kiwanis Club has been active in Demopolis for over 70 years, and celebrated its 70th anniversary on April 21.
