Because not only is this 9 year old a very talented singer from Demopolis but, if he wins, he will be the youngest winner in Senior Bowl history. How? On Saturday, January the 5th, Jones competed among 102 contestants vying for the coveted position as the national anthem vocalist for the 2013 Senior Bowl which is played in Mobile. He was selected as one of the three finalists, making Senior Bowl Superstar history. Jones is not only the youngest of the three but he is the only one not from the Mobile area. He will be competing against two Mobile area school teachers. It is important for us to log on and vote as many times as we can to give this young man a fighting chance to be the next Senior Bowl Superstar.
Jones is the son of Candace and Edmund Colgrove of Demopolis, Alabama and he attends U.S. Jones Elementary School. He plays the piano and is a vocal student at Clements Talent Coaching.
Colgrove will appear on Mobile’s WKRG-TV5 morning show Tuesday morning, January the 8th.
The program airs from 5 to 7 a.m. All three performances will re-air on Friday, Jan. 11, and will be presented on the station’s website. Then comes a round of internet voting, which runs from 8 a.m. Friday through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, at www.wkrg.com and www.seniorbowl.com.
The winner will be announced on the WKRG morning show on Monday, Jan. 14. More than 300,000 votes were cast in last year’s competition.
If Colgrove wins, he will be singing the national anthem in front of thousands of fans at the 2013 Senior Bowl Game in Mobile, Alabama on January the 26th.
