After a fantastic four day weekend run with the Canebrake’s summer show, Jones does it again in Tuscaloosa. The Tuscaloosa Talent Search auditions were held on Saturday, August the 11th and Jones was selected out of over 100 others to compete in the finals show on Saturday the 18th at The Bama Theater.

He brought the house down and pulled at the judges heart strings with his performance of “Where is Love” from Oliver. When the show came to a close and it was time to announce the winners of each division, Jones was very excited to hear his name called out for the Junior Vocalist winner. Being the youngest in the entire show, he did not expect to win. “The competition was really tough and we were just happy for him to have the experience of performing and competing on a big stage. This is his first real vocal competition,” stated Candace Colgrove excitedly.

Along with the title of Junior Vocalist Winner, Jones brought home a cash prize of $250! When asked, he said, “I haven’t decided what to do with all that money yet!”

Jones resides here in Demopolis and is the 8 year old son of Edmund and Candace Colgrove. He has two siblings, a sister, Mary McClain, and brother, Josiah. His Grandparents are David and Linda Jones of Demopolis, Edmund Colgrove, Sr. of Boligee, and Jim and Barbara Caruthers of Hope Hull. He is an All-A Honor Roll student at U. S.
