Huckabee earns Player of the Week

Hayden Huckabee turned eight touches into five touchdowns last week in a road region win over Wilcox Academy.

The Longhorn standout has assaulted the school record books over the course of his varsity career. The senior showed no signs of slowing down last week as he ran for scores of 66, 3, 46 and 7 yards while also returning a punt 50 yards for a score.

Huckabee had seven carries fro 127 yards and four scores before heading to the sidelines early in the second quarter.

His efforts helped land the Longhorns an outright region championship and earned him ESPN 104.9 Player of the Week honors. Huckabee spent part of his Tuesday evening with the ESPN 104.9 Coaches Show crew at Batter Up Sports Grill where he received a commemorative T-shirt.
