Hamm, Luker to speak at Men’s Rally May 2

Men from across West Alabama will have a unique opportunity to hear dynamic speakers and enjoy a free meal at a “Stand in the Gap Men’s Rally” in Demopolis on Saturday, May 2.

The event is sponsored by the Thursday Morning Men’s Prayer Group, which meets weekly at Bryan Whitfield Memorial Hospital, and will be held at First Baptist Church.

“This event is totally free,” said Prayer Group organizers Jeff Holley and Jim Stanford. “There will be no admission fee and no love offering will be taken. We want the men in this area to come out and just enjoy a great meal, great fellowship and hear a challenging message.”

Featured speakers include Stacy Luker, Demopolis High School head football coach, and Kevin Hamm, Pastor of Gardendale First Baptist Church.

“This will be a wonderful evening for us as men to be challenged to stand in the gap for God,” Holley and Stanford said, emphasizing that the event is community-wide. “Our verse for the event is Ezekiel 22:30, which says, ‘I searched for a man among them who would repair the wall and stand in the gap’.

“This is not a First Baptist Church event,” they added. “Several churches in the area are contributing funds and manpower to make this event possible.”
