Greg Griggers seeking re-election as District Attorney

DSC_3885It has been my privilege to serve as District Attorney for the 17th Judicial Circuit since January 2003. Today, I am formally announcing my intentions to seek re-election for another term of office. I humbly request your support and vote on March 1, 2016 in the Democratic Primary.

Over the past thirteen years, I have strived to serve my office with integrity, professionalism, and efficiency. I do not take my responsibility as a public servant lightly, and I am proud of the record I have built during my two terms of office. Although I do not by any means claim perfection, I do stand by the body of work that has been created over the past thirteen years, and I am confident that it reflects the hard work and effort that I have tried to bring to the office every single day since being sworn in as your District Attorney.

As the highest ranking law enforcement officer in the 17th Circuit, I work closely with our local law enforcement agencies in Greene, Sumter and Marengo Counties, the law enforcement agencies in our neighboring Circuits, and with State and Federal law enforcement agencies to ensure that crime victims receive justice from their perpetrators. Criminal Defendants are prosecuted fairly and consistently. I have tried to show strength in the cases that affected the safety and well-being of the citizens of the 17th Circuit, but I have also tried to show compassion when the circumstances allowed me to do so.

I cannot take credit for all the good work that is performed in the District Attorney’s Office. I am blessed and fortunate to be supported by an excellent staff who share my commitment to serve the citizens of the 17th Circuit. With your support and vote on March 1, 2016, the citizens of Greene, Marengo and Sumter Counties can be assured that the District Attorney’s office will remain in competent hands.

I look forward to seeing all of you out on the campaign trail the next couple of months. On behalf of myself and the men and women in my office, I thank you for the support we have received over the years and humbly ask you for you continued support and vote on March 1, 2016 in the Democratic Primary.
