ESPN 104.9 names Robinson Player of the Week

Anthony Robinson has long been Linden’s go-to guy. Friday night, the Patriots’ team leader was unquestionably their most valuable player.

Robinson never left the field in a key region contest against A.L. Johnson, playing quarterback, free safety, punter, punt returner and placekicker in the game.

The Patriots, who went on to a 34-0 win, led ALJ only 8-0 at halftime and needed every contribution from Robinson to put the Eagles squarely in their rearview.

Robinson recorded six tackles on defense and carried the ball 12 times for 123 yards and two scores on offense.

The Class 1A Back of the Year runner-up for the Alabama Sports Writers Association a year ago, Robinson added another accolade this week when he was named the ESPN 104.9 Coaches Show Player of the Week.

The ESPN 104.9 crew presented Robinson with a commemorative T-shirt during its Tuesday night show at Batter Up Sports Grill in Demopolis.
