Drug operation nets four more arrests

Demopolis Police Department officers arrested four more individuals as part of Operation Gemini, a 14-month initiative that saw the DPD apprehend 18 individuals Tuesday, Nov. 20.

The most recent apprehensions include Travis Dewayne Rowser, Justin Ray Hall, Milton James Daniels and Derrick Cartez Simmons.

Each faces varying counts of distribution charges. Daniels also faces charges for Escape III, Ex-Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Receiving Stolen Property III and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Others arrested thus far in the operation include Johnny Monghan, Derrick Haywood, Travis Wesley, Ernest Gleen Bryant, Beverly Thrasher, Otis Collier Jr., Kevin Lamont Shaw, Eric Maurice Elmore, Syler Montrelle Daniels, Marcus Jermaine McKinley, Juan Demetric Huitt, Willie Barnett, Loyd Ahmad Hammad, Gregory Hildreth, Brad Andrew Braxton and Juan Tino McClain.

In total, the operation has led to 24 arrests thus far. Demopolis Police Department Chief Tommie Reese also indicated there are other warrants pending as part of the initiative.

The operation is the result of collaborative efforts of the Demopolis Police Department, the 17th Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office, the Marengo County Sheriff’s Office, the Alabama Beverage Control Board, the 4th Circuit Drug Task Force and the Selma Police Department.
