DPD arrests second subject in Sunsouth burglary

Demopolis Police Chief Tommie Reese reported that a second suspect in the Jan. 8 Sunsouth (John Deere) Tractor break-in has been arrested. Thomas Omar Frieson, 36, of Birmingham stole numerous items alongside Audre Jerome Hendon, 57, of Birmigham.

The duo led DPD officers on a chase that reached speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour. During the evasion attempt, Hendon and Frieson reportedly tossed chainsaws and other stolen items into the highway in an effort to slow pursuing officers. DPD officers apprehended Hendon at the end of the chase but were unable to catch Frieson, who fled on foot.

Chief Reese stated that on Tuesday Jan. 13, DPD Criminal Investigators traveled to Birmingham where the second suspect was arrested and transported back to Demopolis to be processed and later transferred to Marengo County Jail.

Frieson faces the following charges:

(1) Count of Burglary III

(1) Count Receiving Stolen Property 1st Degree

(1) Count of Possession of Burglary Tools

The bond for Hendon is set at $400,000 while the bond for Frieson is $375,000.

Reese also indicated that other charges are forthcoming from other areas. Reese stated that he is very proud of the DPD officers and all of the hard work that is done.
