DHS FFA holding fruit, meat sale

The Demopolis High School chapter of Future Farmers of America is currently holding a meat and fruit sale to help raise funds for future trips and conventions.

The fruits are being handled by the Florida Farm Bureau in Gainesville, Fla. While the meats are from Southern Heritage in Madison, Miss.

The sales opened Monday. The meat sale is set to end Oct. 25 while the fruit ends Nov. 1.

“You can see any FFA member or come by the Ag department or contact any Ag student and be able to order,” Demopolis High FFA sponsor and Agriscience teacher Trent Wells said. “We’re trying to get money where we can go on other trips and things like that.”

The fruit from the sale is set to be delivered during the first week of December while the meat is scheduled to arrive the week before Thanksgiving.

Those wishing to order directly from Wells are encouraged to contact him via email at twells@demopoliscityschools.org or phone at 205-471-1303 or by calling the front office.
