Demopolis police arrest one for robbery

On April 4, the Demopolis Police Department arrested Davonte Lamar Harris, 23, of Demopolis for Robbery in the Second Degree. This arrest came after the victim stated that two male individuals came up behind him in a vehicle while he was walking, attacked and robbed him of U.S. currency. The victim knew both suspects and later signed warrants. One suspect is still at large. Harris was processed and later transported to the Marengo County Detention Center for a Bond Hearing.

On March 29, 2017, the Demopolis Police Department arrested David Jameson Gracie, 25, of Gallion for a Terrorist Threat. His arrest came after he had a verbal altercation with a female who worked at Mr. G’s in Demopolis, when he threatened to shoot up Mr. G’s Restaurant. He was processed and later transported the Marengo County Detention Center for a Bond Hearing.

On March 29 the Demopolis Police Department arrested Derrick Luther Cox, 47, of Demopolis for a string of auto burglaries that occurred back in 2015. His arrest came after DPD received back a Forensic Sciences Report on evidence submitted to the lab. Cox was picked up in Tennessee and transported back to Alabama where he was arrested and charged with the following Burglary in the Third Degree and Two (2) Count of Burglary of an Auto. He was processed and transported the Marengo County Detention Center to await a Bond Hearing.
