Demopolis playoff game moved to Thursday

Demopolis High’s first round playoff game against Charles Henderson has been moved to 7 p.m. Thursday.

The AHSAA announced Monday that schools would be able to flex their playoff games to Thursday in view of the potential for inclement weather Friday.

“You have to consider the people that are driving all the way over here for the game,” Demopolis coach Stacy Luker said. “You don’t want them to end up having to get a hotel room and end up playing it on Saturday.”

Demopolis joins a number of local schools that are exercising the option. Thomasville’s first round matchup with Dadeville is now on Thursday. Clarke County and Jackson also will play Thursday.

A.L. Johnson is also traveling to Brantley Thursday for its first round playoff matchup.
