Demopolis Middle School ties with Thomasville

THOMASVILLE — The Demopolis Middle School football team (1-0-1) ended its Monday night contest with Thomasville tied at 16.

The homestanding Tigers took an early 8-0 lead before Demopolis responded with a 25-yard touchdown pass from Logan McVay to Gavin Tate.

After Thomasville stretched its lead on a fumble return for a touchdown, Demopolis answered with a scoring run from McVay, who led DMS with 142 yards rushing in the contest.

Demopolis defensive lineman Khyrim Bryant disrupted the Thomasville offense for the bulk of the evening, setting up camp in the Thomasville backfield for much of the contest.

Thomasville’s final scoring threat ended when Greg Brown recorded a sack to nullify the drive.

Demopolis amassed 218 yards of total offense while Thomasville finished with only 82.
