Demopolis Middle drops Greensboro

Demopolis Middle School continued its winning ways Monday with a 22-14 victory over visiting Greensboro.

The Tigers opened the scoring with a short pass from Jaquard Jackson to Logan McVay before Jackson found the end zone again on a 35-yard run to put DMS up 14-0.

Greensboro managed to work the ball down inside the Demopolis 5 before R.J. Cox intercepted a pass and took it the other way.

The Raiders finally got on the scoreboard in the second half with a one-yard run that capped a long drive.

DMS responded immediately when McVay broke a 65-yard run for a touchdown. Khyrim Bryant then added the two-point conversion run for DMS. Greensboro managed another scoring drive before time expired.

Matthew Beckum led the team in tackles while also forcing and recovering a fumble. Jacob Brown and Tavion Broadwater also intercepted passes for DMS.

McVay finished the night with 106 rushing yards while Jackson added 48. Demopolis outgained Greensboro 213-179 in total yards.
