Demopolis (11-3) fell flat Thursday as it dropped a home tilt to American Christian Academy 4-0. The Tigers surrendered three runs in the third and one in the fourth to find themselves in a significant hole.
Demopolis struggled to make contact throughout the night, striking out 15 times in the game. The only hits of the evening came in the form of singles from Courtney Smith, Elly Brown, Abbey Latham and Bria Brown.
The loss is only the third of the year for the Tigers, whose other two defeats came in tournament play against Class 7A Baker. The setback also marks the first time Demopolis has been shut out this season.
The Lady Tigers are set to play again Tuesday when they host Hale County.
