The Demopolis Lady Tigers continued their trend of blowout wins Friday when they thumped Thomasville 50-17 to move to 6-0 on the season.

“Our focus is coming out each and every ballgame, clearing the basketball, playing great defense and getting up and down the floor, playing to our strengths,” Demopolis coach Tony Pittman said. “I think we did that early in the ballgame and kind of put the ballgame away early.”

Demopolis got 18 points out of Shakesaney Bell and 11 out of Ivery Moore in the romp. Courtney Hill added nine while Darnesha Harris scored eight. Demopolis led 39-9 at half and rested its starters for much of the game’s final 16 minutes.

Demopolis has outscored opponents 366-165 thus far this season while averaging a margin of victory at nearly 34 points per contest.

Demopolis is set to compete again Monday, Dec. 28 at the BallN Powher Prep Invitational in Montgomery.

“You have to continue to do what you do. We’re going to continue to come in and practice. We’re going to bring the JV boys in to practice to keep our game legs, keep us fresh and try to continue the momentum that we have going,” Pittman said.
