Demopolis struggled to find consistency Friday night as it stayed with Thomasville but most of the contest before falling 48-41.

“We’re trying to get it down. It’s going to take a while to get that continuity together but it’s coming,” Demopolis coach Ashley Allen said of his squad. “It’s coming. We’ve just got to do a little bit more.”

Demopolis (2-4) pulled to within two twice in the fourth quarter, the last such run coming off a Ladarius Adams put-back and an Antoine Collier triple with less than a minute remaining. However, the host Tigers proved incapable of finding a consistent scoring threat outside of senior Josh Moore as Thomasville put the game away down the stretch.

Moore scored 28 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead all players in both categories but watched as his teammates cobbled together only a combined 13 points.

“Hopefully when we get Xavier Jowers back, that’ll be another guy that can take somebody off the dribble and really get some pressure from the outside so we’ll have that open look down low,” Allen said of the his team’s continuing quest to employ its full complement of players. Jowers is expected to play his first game of the season Jan. 4, 2016 at Wilcox-Central.

Ryan Calhoun led Thomasville with 16 points. Tremaine Cheeseboro scored 10 points while Rashad Mosley had nine.
