Demopolis drops Thomasville for season sweep

Demopolis (11-5) swept its season series against Thomasville with a 7-3 road win Friday night.

After starter Tripp Perry bowed out following one inning of work, Luke Yelverton brought Demopolis back with five strikeouts, one walk, two hits and one unearned run over six innings of work.

Demopolis trailed 2-0 after one inning of play but hung six runs on the board in the fourth and another in the fifth.

Hunter Colyar led the way at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. R.J. Cox led went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored.

Ryan Schroeder was 1-for-4 with a run scored. Jacob Rodrigues went 1-for-2 with a run scored. Wil Stephens scored a run.

Jay Craig was 1-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Tripp Perry went 1-for-4 with one RBI.

Demopolis is set to play again next week against some of the top programs in the state at a tournament in Alex City.
