Demopolis BOE has short called meeting

In a short called business meeting Wednesday, the Demopolis Board of Education approved the purchase of 90 Lenovo Chromebooks for Westside Elementary and two new hires.

The board is purchasing the tablets from Synergetics Diversified Computer Services for $21,060 and will allow WES to place three tablets in each classroom.

Jessica Miller was hired as a second grade teacher at WES, replacing Annette Gwin, and Jennifer Schroeder was hired as the Special Education teacher at U.S. Jones Elementary.

Additions to the substitute roster approved by the board include Jennifer Silcox, Felicia Square, Milteshia Anthony, Fleming Tarr and Lorraine Simon.
