Demopolis BOE discusses DHS geo-thermal system in called meeting

In a called meeting of the Demopolis City Schools Board of Education, the only vote taken was the non-renewal of Dr. Tony Speegle’s contract as principal of Demopolis High School.

After that vote was taken, the board went into executive session to discuss the recently completed geo-thermal system at DHS.

“Because of contractual matters and the possibility of litigation, we went into executive session for one hour,” said Kyle Kallhoff, superintendent.

No action was taken after the session was completed.

After the meeting Kallhoff said the geo-thermal system is not functioning at 100 percent. Three contracts are let on the project. Most of the funds have been paid to the contractors for the work.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the board will be Monday, March 14, at 5:15 p.m.
