On a day of few bright spots for the Gamecocks’ offense, Jacksonville State junior DaMarcus James etched his name in JSU’s record book with a 1-yard touchdown dive in the fourth quarter.

A Demopolis High School alum, James surpassed Oscar Bonds’ school record for touchdowns in a season with his 20th. He finished with 85 yards on 20 carries. James is one rushing touchdown away from tying the Ohio Valley Conference record for most in a single season. He has scored a touchdown in eight straight games and sits at 974 yards rushing with one game remaining in the regular season.
