Cordova Crowned Miss COTR 2014
Last night the annual Miss Christmas on the River pageant, under the direction of Mrs. Ann Parsons, was held at the Demopolis Civic Center. It was a night of beauty and elegance as these local young women competed for the coveted title of Miss Christmas on the River 2014. All areas were very well represented and it was a very hard decision for the judges. At the end of the night the scores were tallied for a private interview with the judges, stage presence and beauty, and an onstage interview with Mr. James Span.
With much excitement James Span announced the Miss Christmas on the River 2014 and her court. Voted on by the contestants, Gabrielle Shian Cassity was named COTR Miss Congeniality. From Demopolis High, fourth alternate was Erin Payton Collins wearing a beautiful ocean inspired chiffon gown. In a turquoise lace embellished gown, Caroline Overmyer of DHS was named third alternate. Katelyn Elizabeth Beshears, a Senior at Demopolis High, received second alternate wearing a shimmering silver mermaid gown. First alternate was awarded to Anna Caroline Logan of Demopolis High School. Anna Caroline was wearing a beautiful rhinestone fully embellished gown. Caitlyn Rochelle Cordova, a Junior at Hale County High School, was crowned this year’s Miss Christmas on the River. Caitlyn was wearing a gorgeous silver and white Angela and Allison gown. Cordova is the 16 year old daughter of Keith and Miriam Taylor of Greensboro.
The top 15 of the night, not named above, were Camilla Tutt, Reid Clair Stein, Sydney Maria Pettis, Shoni Allison Jones, Mary Howerton, Rebecca Jewel Broussard, Meredith Hill, Anne Burtram Harrison, Sidney Alyn Atkins, and Haley Ryan Mitchell. A gallery of the top 15 can be seen here.
