Colyar throws “no-no” in Tiger rout

Demopolis opened its season sharply Monday night as Hunter Colyar pitched a five-inning no-hitter in an 11-0 victory at Clarke County.

Colyar struck out seven batters over five while walking one on just 50 pitches. The only other baserunner for Clarke County reached on an error. The Tigers scored three runs in the first on a Charles Casper homer. Demopolis added two in the second, four in the fourth and two in the fifth to seal the win.

Chandler Barton finished 3-for-3 with two doubles, a walk and three runs scored. R.J. Cox went 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Hudson Holley scored a pair of runs. Casper was 2-for-3 with a homer, a double, a walk, four RBIs and two runs scored. Jonathon Lewis had a 2-for-4 night with two RBIs and a run scored. D.D. Davis went 2-for-3 with a double, one RBI and two runs scored. Andrew Patterson and David Allgood were each 1-for-3.

The Tigers are set to play Friday night at 7 p.m. when they host Sipsey Valley. Demopolis welcomes Hale County at 11 a.m. Saturday before playing Sweet Water at 3 p.m.
