Clancy Ann Morrison Montz

Clancy Ann Morrison Montz died peacefully at Hale County Hospital on June 16, 2016.

Ann was born to Mary Fowler and Aubrey Benson Morrison on May 11, 1941. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lenson Montz, her son Aubrey Jay Montz, and brothers-in-law (Robert Lucky and Robert Gist). Ann battled serious health issues for many years. Although Ann endured critical health problems , tragedy and sadness in her years, she mostly kept a smile on her face and never lost her sense of humor. Ann loved deeply, and she touched so many lives with her kind heart. Many of Aubrey Jay’s friends and Anna’s friends felt as though they had a second mother because she loved them as her own.

Ann grew up learning the dairy business from her father. She worked for Dairy Fresh Corporation for the majority of her working years only taking off time to work on their catfish farm. She enjoyed the outdoors and “harvest time” for the catfish. Ann was one of four sisters. “The Sisters” were so close and usually spoke on the phone daily. With Ann’s failing health she had to spend much of her later days inside.

She enjoyed watching Alabama sports and working crossword puzzles. There were countless phone calls between Ann and sister Betty comparing crossword answers and giving each other hints to finish a puzzle. Ann’s sister Bennye always kept an eye out for Ann and made sure she had healthy meals and took her to doctors’ appointments. Sister Mary Jane always made trips to the grocery, pharmacy, and Wal-mart for Ann because goodness knows Ann loved her some Wal-mart.

Ann’s heart was full of joy and love for her beautiful grandchildren and great grandchildren. She even said she could be tired and ready for bed , but if the grandchildren were coming over, she felt she could turn cartwheels she would be so happy. Ann loved and was dearly loved by her nieces and nephews.

Selfishly we want Ann here with us, but knowing she is whole again and reunited with Aubrey Jay and Lenson gives peace to all that mourn her. There is no doubt that she is rejoicing and enjoying those who went before her. The angels have gained another beautiful soul.

Ann is survived by her daughter Anna Lynn Montz, grandson Daniel Joseph Coley and wife Mallory, granddaughters Cynthia Ann Coley and Mary Ruth Coley, Great Granddaughters Addy and Melody and great grandsons Connor and Luke and her sisters Betty Morrison Gist, Bennye Morrison Barnette and husband Braz, and Mary Morrison Blankenship and husband David.
