LTE: City Horticulturist says “Thank you”

bloom 015Demopolis won a national award with America in Bloom. Demopolis won in 7,000- 12,000 population with two other cities listed in our population. We have (a rating of) four blooms now and can max out on five blooms. I believe our score was 780 out of 1000.

I feel this program is very important to Demopolis. We still have some areas that need some attention but eventually we will get them. This is another set of eyes that comes into our community and gives us ideas on things we need to improve upon.

I am so proud of our community coming together as one to make this happen.

(I want to thank) the Mayor, Council, Public Works, Horticulture, Police Department, Fire Department, Parks and Recreation, Library, Building Official, Kirk Brooker,

Alabama Power, Mustard Seed, Robertson Bank. Rock Tenn, Trustmark, Bill Mackey, Collins Communication, Parr’s Chevron, Bryan Whitfield Memorial Hospital, Ben Sherrod, Rebecca Culpepper, Demopolis Area of Commerce, Cemex, JROTC, Kiwanis Club, High School Football Team, Mr. (Leon) Clark, Sandy Creek Forestry, Mary Joe Martin, Corps of Engineers, Greene County Steam Plant, Joy Collins, and Historical Preservation.

I apologize if I left anyone off the list. We have proven to everyone across the nation, regardless of what Demopolis participates in or is faced with, whether it’s good or bad, we stand together as one and together we will keep Demopolis a wonderful and inviting city. I personally want to thank everyone for their participation.

Thanks
