CEMEX donates $2,500 to Schools Foundation

Staff members from CEMEX Southeast, LLC presented a $2,500 check to the Demopolis City Schools Foundation’s 2013 Membership Campaign when they visited Elizabeth Renner’s second grade class this spring. Mrs. Renner’s class was the recipient of a Fall 2012 Classroom Grant that brought five iPads into the classroom.

The students showed the visitors the math, reading, and science “apps” they liked the best. With almost six months of experience using these iPads learning applications, the students showed significant gains in their math and reading levels by the end of the year.

“These are our future employees, and the children of our current employees. Seeing students excited about learning because of a grant like this makes supporting the School Foundation an easy decision,” shared Gary Pinault, CEMEX Plant Manager.
