BWWMH administrator Mike Marshall resigns

Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital Administrator Mike Marshall has resigned effective immediately.

The Tombigbee Healthcare Authority Board of Directors issued a press release Monday afternoon confirming Marshall’s resignation.

“Tombigbee Healthcare Authority’s Administrator, Mike Marshall, submitted his resignation to the Board of Directors on Monday, October 20.  Marshall has served as Administrator for 11 years,” the release states.

“We wish Mike well in his future endeavors, and our board is thankful for his 11 years of service to Tombigbee Healthcare Authority and the community,” Jay Shows, Chairman of the Board of Directors, said via the release.  “He has provided outstanding leadership for our hospital and has made great contributions to developing many new patient programs over the years.”

Shows told The Watchman Marshall’s innovations over the last decade have been his greatest contribution to healthcare in Demopolis.

“His ability and initiative in bringing new product lines to our hospital has been a Godsend,” Shows said.

Art Evans will handle the hospital’s administrative duties. There is no word yet on the permanency of Evans’ new role.

Evans has over 35 years of experience with the hospital serving as CFO/Assistant Administrator.
