In a season that saw no shortage of impressive campaigns throughout the county, no team had a more impressive run than Sweet Water High School. The Lady Bulldogs worked their way to a 22-8 record on the season and carried home the Class 2A, Area 2 championship.

Leading the way for the squad was senior outside hitter Emily Black. The team’s Most Valuable Player finished the year with 206 kills, 138 digs and proved rather adept as a passer.

For her efforts, the 5-8 Sweet Water standout is the 2015 West Alabama Watchman Volleyball Player of the Year.

Joining Black in the collection of accolades is her coach Mike Tucker, whose storied career led him closer to his roots when he joined the Sweet Water program before the 2014 season. The 2015 version of the Bulldogs proved to be the most improved team in the county under Tucker’s tutelage. His work earns him 2015 West Alabama Watchman Volleyball Coach of the Year distinction.
