The staff of the Batter Up Sports Grill in Demopolis will be working in part Tuesday night to benefit Dan Harper, a popular local citizen who recently endured a battle with colorectal cancer.

Batter Up will donate a portion of all proceeds garnered between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesday to Harper.

The effort coincides with the ESPN 104.9 Tuesday Night Coaches Show, which broadcasts live from the restaurant.

Batter Up owner Jason Windham launched the initiative two seasons ago and began making weekly donations to local athletic teams and affiliated entities. Last week, Windham and his crew donated proceeds to the family of Jacob Saelens, a 10-year-old boy who recently underwent a heart transplant.

The ESPN 104.9 Coaches Show is hosted by Rob Pearson and Jeremy Smith and airs from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m.
