ALJ upperclassmen participate in career preparedness interviews

ALJJuniors and seniors enrolled in Vicki Barnes’ Career Preparedness class at Amelia L. Johnson High School participated in Mock Interviews on Friday, Dec. 12. These students have been studying the employment process for several weeks. Latoya Collier, career coach, also helped prepare the students for the interviews.

Guest interviewers were Larry Jowers, site manager of the Demopolis Career Center and Jocelyn Gipson-Vincent, training and development manager, Naheola Mill, Georgia Pacific Corporation.

As part of preparing students to be college and career ready, the career preparedness course equips students with the skills needed for business and industry.

“These students did an outstanding job on their interviews and we thank Mr. Jowers, Mrs. Gipson-Vincent and Ms. Collier for taking time out of their busy schedules to give these students a valuable experience,” Barnes said.
