Alabama Power restoring power to 5,000 homes

Alabama Power is attempting to restore power to 325 homes across Marengo and Sumter Counties at this hour following a band of storms that moved through the area overnight.

Manager of Alabama Power Diane Brooker confirmed that approximately 5,000 homes in the area lost power during the storm.

“We have 325 still out. We have 5,000 out when the storm came through the area,” Brooker said. “Crews are working to have everyone back on as soon as possible.”
