Adkison receives distinguished leadership honor

AdkisonThe Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools (CLAS) has chosen Dr. Vic Adkison, superintendent of Thomasville City Schools, to be the Director for School Superintendents of Alabama for 2015-2016. CLAS and its affiliates are highly respected among quality educators for putting the welfare of children first and providing quality professional development for school administrators.

In his letter to the Thomasville Board of Education, Dr. Earl Franks, Executive Director of CLAS, stated, ” I respectfully request that you inform your Board of the distinguished leadership role earned by Dr. Adkison. It is a distinct honor to be chosen as Director of a state-wide association.”

Adkison came to Thomasville in 2007. He is now the second longest serving superintendent in the state of Alabama. Adkison has been in education for 37 years.

The Thomasville City Board of Education recognized Adkison at a recent Board meeting.
